Lead Developer - Dependency Map

As our lead developer for Dependency Map, you will take our already great visualization tool to the next level. You will lead the product development both on the operational and strategic level, and be a part of a small passionate team. Dependency Map is a software tool that helps organizations streamline their projects by visualizing dependencies between tickets. Dependency Map is currently available on Jira Server and Jira Data center. In 2021 we're planning on taking Dependency Map to the next level by making it available on a third platform. Probably, this is going to be Jira cloud but we would love our new lead developer to give us input on this. 

Some key facts

  • Today, Dependency Map is used by customers such as SAAB, IBM, Bosch, Ericsson and Kambi. 
  • As our product is handling data from our customer's product development (eg. their most important information) we strongly emphasize quality and security over speed.
  • The project is only two years old and we take pride in developing code that is clean, well-documented, and easy to maintain.

The role is also pretty awesome

As previously mentioned, you will lead the product development both on a strategic and operational level. This means that you will be a key contributor in making decisions such as "what cloud-based platform should we chose?" as well as building it from scratch. Of course, this includes setting up the architecture as well as ensuring that we release high-quality software. As we're still a small team, you will also help out with answering technically advanced support questions. 

Previously, the Dependency Map team has been pretty much a two-person show. But our goal for 2021 is to be at least four people in the team; CEO, Lead developer, product owner, and another full-stack software developer.

In short, we're looking for an experienced software engineer that is interested in developing Dependency Map as a business.

  • Strong software engineering skills and experience in working with all stages in the software development life cycle.
  • Experience in DevOps and cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Experience working with full-stack software development using Java and Javascript, preferably Vue and React.
  • Experience in working on projects using Jira and an interest in learning more about the Atlassian ecosystem.
  • A quality-first mindset and ability to write clean code that is easy to maintain and well-documented.
